Superhero Slacking

The next couple of games that we’ll review are two relatively new releases and are juxtaposed both in terms of character and quality.

Superhero Slacking

This game has quite the creative storyline. A little blonde girl who liked to daydream woke up one morning and, low and behold, she had somehow through the night developed fantastic super powers. And if you wake up with super powers, are bitten by or fused with an animal etc. etc., you have two choices in life: superhero or supervillain. Sarah decided to opt to ally her powers with the forces of good. It turns out though that being a superhero is not quite all that it’s cracked up to be and our little heroine doesn’t have much time any more to play. So she tries to have some fun whilst dealing with all the bad guys out terrorising the streets. So she is a superhero that slacks off once in a while just to have some fun. Well, she is human after all…kind of!

This is essentially a game for young kids, probably up to the age of 5 or 6. If you are much older than that you probably won’t find it particularly entertaining, but if you are in the right age range the colours and simplicity will likely keep you amused for some time. Drag Sarah’s x-ray vision around the room to locate a hidden cookie, learn how to type on a keyboard and let your child enjoy simple games that will improve hand to eye coordination and dexterity. A couple of the games are less good than the others and there appears to be the occasional bug but if you are looking for something to keep a young child amused for half an hour you can load this up on the browser, give them some quick instructions and leave them too it for a blissful cuppa!

Mutant Fighting Cup

Box10.com’s latest Flash lark, Mutant Fighting Cup, is what it says on the tin, a mutant fighting cup. The game starts off promisingly with you choosing certain genes which will improve your mutant’s attack, defence and add special powers. You then mutate your poor pet dog into a fearsome fighting machine. What follows however is essentially a bit rubbish. There is simply what is a slightly questionable mutant dog fight where you just hit a button for your move, which appears to be either attack, or defend, which as far as I can tell does nothing as it doesn’t defend your opponent’s attack. The graphics are awful, the gameplay is poor and illogical and this game is a complete waste of pixels and bandwidth.
